Roman silver siliqua coin hoard.

16 Feb 2022

Myself and friend found a scattered late Roman silver siliqua hoard. Dated between 360’s to 410AD Twenty eight coins so far on four trips to the field. We discovered this in a ploughed field. Scattered over 30 metres. We both use the Minelab CTX. This amazing machine has helped us with this discovery. Lots of iron and contaminated in that section of field. The CTX coped with the masking of the good targets. We have just handed it in as treasure and it is going to The British Museum for further research. It is a dream come true for us finding this hoard. We can’t wait to return when the field is harvested and it would be nice to find more. The landowner is very pleased with the discovery too.
