This lovely hammer head is 800BC . It was found in a pasture field in the North east UK . It has been id by the British Museum as the farthest northern hammer ever found in the UK . And the only one in County Durham . It is in fantastic condition as you can see it has been used as worn on a corner . It is at the British Museum at the moment ..
