This is our first season with a Minelab detector. My fiancé and I are both using the Minelab equinox 800, and loving it! We headed out to a local park that I had looked up on the old plat map, and we started detecting where an old farm had been. We found a lot of clad most of the time, but it was good for learning the machine. Then I had a hit that sounded totally different than the clad and it was a solid hit each way I swung. To my surprise it was an old medical device plate for a machine to cure deafness. This device was patented in 1903, and my plate said patent applied for, so it was even older.
