Permission gives up second treasure

13 Oct 2020

It was a wet cold day and very windy . I was indecisive wherever to go out or not but I did so I grabbed my equinox 600 and of I went to my permission where I already had a bronze age hoard so had high Hope's of finding something nice again . After a few hours getting wet just a few copper coins came to light and was thinking of calling it a day as the weather was getting worse but I kept at it . Then I get a nice tone steady 16 I'd number so I dig the plug and about 10 inch down was a silver heart pendant I thought to myself what a nice piece i had found thinking it could be Georgian or victorian so i put it in my finds pot and carried on for a few more hours before setting off home. So after a few days i started to clean my finds up and there it was beautiful silver heart pendant with some of the gold guild still on it and 3 letter I H R with arrow head and crosses on the ends of the letters . After doing some research I found one on the pas and was classed as treasure and was dated as early tudor possible from henry viii reformation of the church and the IHR was christogram meaning jesus christ so contacted the flo to report it and call the land owner to say what I have found he was amazed once more . And was looking forward to what the flo had to say about it . Going out in that wet and windy day paid off for me I wont hesitate to go out in bad weather again .
