I have been detecting over 30 years and I have many artefacts, gold and silver coins and used many detectors. My first Minelab detector was an Explorer II, then Excalibur II,( in sea detecting) CTX 3030 which was an all-rounder(But I had a few problems with it) and now I the using the Equinox 800 with 15 inch search head and waterproof head phones for 18 months. The Equinox and CTX to needs a bit of time to understand and fine tune to your requirements. The Equinox 800 is so far awesome detector to detect on plough land, pasture, beaches and in the sea. In my opinion just needs a couple of important improvement especially the band width needs increasing and then it be extra awesome. I have a vast amount brilliant finds and stories that I write books or present a TV programs and continue to detect with even more find to have and stories to gain, In fact, I have started my own You Tube channel John Detecting Adventures show some of the artefacts, coins and jewellery that I find.
