Got another opportunity to swing at a farm field permission on March 15th 2020. During the first hour I was able to recover an 1853 Braided Hair Large Cent and two old Horse Tack Buckles. After that I had a spell of finding “trash”. About 30 minutes prior to departing I got a solid 13-32 on my E-TRAC, running in a customized two tone ferrous program. I dug the plug, broke it apart and could see a round object. Picked it up, I could tell that it was a button, wiped it a bit, and couldn’t decipher what was on it. Once I got home I swiped the button a few times with a toothbrush and an image started to appear. The image was of an old log cabin with smoke coming out of the chimney. I googled the image and I was able to determine what button I had found. The relic I recovered was a 1840 William Henry Harrison Log Cabin Campaign Button, the 9th President of the United States of America! Fairly certain for me, a once in a lifetime find of American History!
