I got to metal detect on a former homestead which was torn down in the 1950s. The house next to the old place is occupied by the original owner's grandson who is now 70. The old homestead goes back to at least the late 1800s. I found a boat load of artefacts which I relinquished over to the owner. The best find of the day was a Captain Midnight's Secret Squadron decoder button from 1946 (dated). The strangest finds were a rail car wheel and a massive gear. Too many other items to list but mainly household items, farming tools and parts.
