On the date of March 12, 2021, I was in my native village, in my parents house and around 2 p.m.i decided to go for some relaxing detecting and to test in the same time the metal detector Equinox 800, bought in January 2021 from RODETECTORS. Living at the edge of the village i passed through the dry bed of the river Călmăţui and climbed a small hill about 250 m from the house. At the first signal, it was a good signal (frequency 29-34) that I was about to ignore because it was the known signal of beer doses, I started digging. At the first coin, a clean, slightly oxidized one, I knew I had found something very important without imagining what would happen next. My emotions overwhelmed me, my pulse went crazy, I felt like I had no air left, my legs softened. Digging, new coins and fragments of a clay pot began to appear one by one, or even two glued, the largest of which was part of the bottom. The vessel was broken over time and the coins were covered in mud. I didn't keep their number but at a little over 20 I decided to stop and call the authorities. I called the Directorate for Culture of Olt County, the City Hall of Radomireşti commune and the Police. The culture official gave me some advice, the mayor's office official told me to call the police, the police were the only ones who joined me in a very short time. In the presence of the police, five in number, I continued to bring to light new and new coins up to 68. All coins and fragments of the vessel were grouped at a depth of 25-30 cm. After the 68th coin, the detector did not signal. We stopped the search and the police officers drew up a report of the event and left. The treasure remained with me. For almost two hours I washed the mud, only with water, coin by coin. Then the true beauty of the treasure was revealed to me. The next day I went to retrieve, if necessary, any fragments of the clay pot, but I also took the detector. I found only a fragment but, due to the madness of the previous day but also to the lack of experience, the detector discovered 2 more coins about two meters from the place of discovery in the mud detached from the shoes. Thus, 70 silver coins were issued by the Roman province of Macedonia Prima between 158-150 BC. Each coin has on the obverse the face of the goddess Artemis and on the reverse the words Macedonia Prima placed superimposed and separated by a wider bar on the right representing the staff of Hercules. Due to the differences in the face of the goddess Artemis, it was highlighted that the coins were issued for several years. Also on this day, all the authorities came and the protocol to be followed was established. A restriction was established at the place of discovery and it was decided that the handover would take place on Monday, March 15, 2015. On this date, according to the law, I handed over to the mayor of Radomireşti commune, who in turn handed over to DJC Olt. At this moment, the treasure is in the possession of the History Museum of Olt County, and an expert will evaluate it.
