My Heart went a Thousand beats in a place full of History

08 Nov 2019

At the time that Brazil was a colony of Portugal, a Portuguese owner of hundreds of slaves exploited the gold of a small river near my city. He ordered that the original riverbed be diverted so that the bottom would be dry so that they could remove the gold by sifting the gravel from the bottom with sheepskins. Then they built a dam and diverted the course of the river. I went here to spot along the old dry riverbed and could see parts of the dam walls made by the slaves. This afternoon went detecting at the old dry riverbed with my Equinox800 and I started to imagine the mining scene at that place hundreds of years ago. I came back to my mind when the detector signed a beautiful rich sign behind one rotten tree trunk. It came at my hands a beautiful coin of 80 REIS, could not see the date by the state of the coin, but this series was made from 1824 to 1831. My heart was a thousand beats per second when I realized that that coin in that location could be part of this story.
