Have been searching with my Minelab CTX 3030 for the last two years, but have been detecting for 10 years. With my fairly new machine, I have been searching along the Fundy Coast. In February it is a little cool, but now retired, I decided to get outside and I'm happy I did.
Set on beach mode, seawater, it rang up at 25.41, at 8". I had to dig and to my great surprise a cannon ball appeared. After doing some research on the history, we think it was used in a skirmish between the Machias Maine Privateers and an area called Partridge Island, now Parrsboro in 1780.
Pretty pumped especially finding out the history of this 6 pounder cannon ball.
Love my Minelab CTX 3030, my baby. Life is good. 😊
