I was detecting in Lincolnshire with my friend. We were getting some interesting finds and the odd hammered, I started walking back to the car for a drink and aimlessly swung my detector as i was walking back. Then, a jumpy 15 signal rang out in my earphones. As i scratched around in the hole with my minelab pinpointer, i picked out a folded silver coin. Due to the finds we had ready got, i assumed it would be an edward 3rd hammered coin.
When i got home, i zoomed in on the coin on my phone, and to my surprise, there was some sort of head facing left. I immediately texted my friend asking what this amazing find was. After some research, we found that it was a foreign coin!!! A venetian soldino from the late 1300s!
