After organising Gwent Detectings various charity rallies where we have now raised over £16,000 it was decided to have a 2 dayer! The land was in Worcester with no knowledgeable history apart from the odd church and the promise of the odd Roman grot? This day in August was a 'golden' day for three Minelab owners, myself, Simon and Paul. Day one saw Simon find a gold seal matrix with his Minelab Explorer XS, find of the weekend you would think until Paul came up with a Gold Quarter stater he'd turned up with his E-TRAC, in amazing condition which took over as find of the weekend, until a sudden downpour stopped play with only an hour to go..!! As I was walking back to 'camp' to pack up and wish all the attendees a fond farewell and a big thank you for raising over £700 for Help for Heroes I came across a belter of a signal, immediately I dug and dug, I couldn't find the item? I then checked the wall of the hole as I was at least 14" inches down and the signal was there, approx 12" down in the side wall........and then.......a bottle top..?? A heavy bottle top I thought until I wiped my hand across the face of the 'top' revealing a face of Henry V..............I shouted and danced, yes, I found a gold hammered coin and to make it better it was mint condition, and a full Henry V gold Noble of 1422. This coin went on to win find of the day and at the December annual presentation night it won 'find of the year'............ Millsy - United Kingdom
