I was on a metal detecting day rally on the Sunday 30th of August on farmland with my Minelab Equinox 800 when I got a clear signal and was showing a target id of 20 on investigation I found I had recovered a military cap badge I did not know at the time it would hold a past connection to my family on getting home from a day’s detecting I decided to research what unit the cap badge belong to on looking up the cap badge I found it was from the Army Service Corps that was later renamed Royal Army Service Corp in World War 2 this corps was what my father service in from the outbreak of world war 2 in 1939 until the end of the second world war in 1945 so funny how finds from the fields we detect in can some memories of family members now long pasted.
