Medieval silver

23 Jun 2020

My story starts when I went for a casual detecting in a busy forest next to Bucharest. I did my research and found out that during the end of the Second World War there were German troops stationed in this specific forest. After 2-2,5 hours of finding modern coins, my Equinox starts to give me clear and low numbers on a 2/2 square meters, some of the fainter some of them quite strong. Starting to dig begun to unearth some thin white coins. As I unearth more, more signals I received. As my hearth was rushing I kept my cool and begun to strategize my dig so that I won’t miss anything. In the end, and after about 2 hours of intense digging, 68 silver medieval coins - Polish, French and Hungarian - were in my bag. It was the first time I have ever found something so important and the whole experience still give me chills when I think about it.
