Hunting in an area that I have been detecting on and off for the past 3 years. Doing a lot of research and putting together 1800's overlay maps on our modern today maps has helped tremendously. On that cold windy and damp October morning, my friend Ben and I headed out to the old 1800’s farm that I had gotten permission for 3 year back. Farm owned at one time by a member of Parliament MPP back in the day. Ben went one way and me the other maybe an hour into our hunt finding scraps of copper and brass bits. Having my new Minelab EQUINOX 800 set on farm field program I got a repeatable signal of 10 on the screen and a low tone. Carefully cutting a large plug and flipping it over immediately I saw yellow, picked it up and looked at it said to myself what the heck, hollered over to Ben I think I found a gold coin. He came running over took one look at it and said I think I see writing on it we then started to do a happy dance. WOW what an awesome day, ( A FIND OF A LIFE TIME )
