Saturday March 12th. 8 AM ..I had finally been granted permission to hunt on this 200 + acre field in Northern Connecticut . 60 degrees in March ?? Well the field was perfect for digging. and within 30 Minutes I already had 2 Large cents . Did not think the day could get any better then I get a great 12 -47 reading 12" deep. It turned out to be an 1812 Infantry Officer Button " Grey Ghost" . Beautiful condition. 10 feet away was the finest looking 1786 Connecticut Copper I have ever dug. 7 hours later ended up with 5 coppers , 6 buttons and a pocket watch.. Best early March hunt ever !
