My friends Steven, Mike and I were up in northern Alberta hunting in November 2021. As part of the hunting I was walking through a thick bush and with a foot (30 cm) of snow. I had stumbled and fell a couple of times and at one point I noticed that my wedding ring was missing from my hand. I marked a tree as to where I discovered this, concluded the days hunt and headed home to let my wife know the bad news. The following week I researched metal detectors and settled on the Vanquish 440 and as good luck would have it I found one on sale. A quick purchase later and studying the user guide the three of us headed back up north the following weekend. Following the trail I took the week before and sweeping with my new 440. Within the hour we located my ring close to a beaver pond under a lot of snow and ice. The signal was strong and I was ecstatic to have found my ring. At -17 degrees Celsius (2 degrees Fahrenheit) it was a bit of a cold day but the warmth of finding that ring I owe mostly to Minelab. Great product and a great recovery.
