Every good Irishman knows there is a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. The rainbow pictured led me directly to a beach on Cape Cod, MA, USA. I not only found gold and silver there this summer, but also the massive ½ Ounce Platinum and diamond ring shown in the foreground of the pot ‘o rings picture. I actually found this ring with the rainbow directly overhead - A beautiful setting for a beautiful ring!
This summer I exclusively swung my Minelab Excalibur II while wading the shallow Cape Cod Beaches. In one 2-week period I found 3 hefty Platinum rings. I prefer my Minelab Excalibur II over all other machines due to my hearing difficulties. I love the control over the target volume. I keep my target volume turned up to what I call “WAKE THE DEAD MODE”. I have used many machines in my career but I have settled upon my Excalibur II as the best.
Most of the rings shown were found towards the end of the summer after the tourists had departed and I had the beaches all to myself. Shown are 14 Gold or Platinum rings which I consider a pretty good haul for an older almost deaf guy.
The large Platinum and Diamond ring is marked as a “Benchmark” ring. Research proved this ring to have an original list price of over $3,500. Benchmark uses diamond of only the highest quality. Besides Diamonds, other gems found and pictured included a large red Star Sapphire, a Blue Topaz and an Amethyst.
One of my more fun finds this summer on Cape Cod was a Pandora Silver bracelet. It’s many charms cleaned up nicely at a Pandora dealer. My wife loves it and wears it often.
Thank you Minelab for providing the quality equipment in support of my favorite obsession! I purchased both my Excalibur IIs from Gerry McMullen of Gerry’s Detectors in Boise, ID. Gerry has been a good friend and mentor throughout my career.
