I'm usually out swinging for hours on end of a weekend, but this was different. We decided to go away and spoil the kids before school goes back. In our Airbnb was info on an old 1800s site just up the road, so I had to go, just for a quick look!! After a short stroll to the ruins, I turned on the 540 and started swinging. I got a very nice signal within the first couple of minutes, and to my shock and amazement, the first target I dug was an 1819 George III silver Half Crown!! Australia was only settled in 1788, 31 years before.
