In the footsteps of Hero's & Kings

Success Story

Today I revisited a couple of fields that I have permission on, these fields are a small part of a much bigger area where in World War one they became the training camps for thousands of young men prepared to go to fight for king and country. The last time I detected there I only had a short time but did manage to find a military hat badge. That was my mission that day and it was a success. Today's mission was to attempt the same with my friend who came along; unfortunately, my detecting buddy had problems with his machine and had a hard fought day. I had a fantastic Day again using the amazing EQUINOX. I found part of a welsh volunteer 3rd regiment hat badge, some rifle bullet casings, a coin from the WW1 period. To me I'd achieved my mission, but things took a Twist, it's strange when you search for hammered coins etc. You never find them but when you are not even thinking about them on a site like this -Boom, a hammered coin turns up, only 1 inch from the surface. Unbelievable, in five years this is my fifth hammered coin, they are so hard to find in my area, todays hammered is of king EDWARD IV Groats dating back to the 1460s, but what's special about this one it's my first with my new EQUINOX 800. A truly amazing machine, thank you Minelab for creating this beast of a machine.
