I was on my permission in the beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside using my minelab equinox 800 on the last swing of the day i got a clear strong signal from under my coil it showed an 8 on my vdu and a depth of 5 inches plus on investigation i found a small silver disc shape at my feet after cleaning it i was unsure of the design on the coin so i asked for identification from a group that specializing in Iron Age Coins from the Celtic Tribes after a few hours the identification i got was a surprize i was told i had recovered a early Anglo Saxon Period Sceatta coinage secondary phase dated to 710 - 760 century the size of the coin shows how good the equinox is at picking out small silver coinage that was left behind by our long gone ancestors
