About 3 weeks ago I purchased my first ever Minelab Metal Detector, a Sovereign GT. I was so impressed with it's performance, stability, and depth, that I purchased a second Sovereign GT for my wife. Her machine arrived yesterday 12/01/2011. My wife is accustomed to using an 8" search coil, so I ordered her machine with an extra 8" coil. Well today 12/02/2011 my wife had to work the late shift, she told me to take her new machine out on the beach and try it out with the new 8" Tornado coil. Well 15 minutes into trying her brand new 15 minute old Minelab Sovereign GT, I find an 8 gram 14k white gold men's wedding band. My wife and I have been metal detecting since the late 1990's and we have bought, used, and sold many machines, but we have never owned any machines so impressive as the Minelab Sovereign GT's.
