Just returned from our long anticipated vacation in beautiful Aruba. My wife, my brother-in-law and I finally were able to stand on their beautiful beaches after passing all the health tests and the 5 hour plane ride. As soon as we could check into our home away from home and square everything away my brother in law and I unpacked our equinox 800s and headed for the sand. On our first evening we found several rings and I found an 14k bracelet and a pair of 14K earrings. Every chance we could the two of us worked the sandy beaches and the shallow water. The equinox is by far one of the best machines I have ever used. I also have an Excalibur II but chose to leave it behind and use the lighter and more versatile Equinox's. Much easier to pack and place in my carry on luggage and a snap to assemble. The last evening there I found some of my best finds, an 18k band, a large mans 14k band and a smaller 14k band all in the course of about an hour and a half. In all between us we found a total of 40 rings, 2 bracelets, several earrings, several nice sterling rings, a 14k iguana pendant, a 14k sand dollar pendant a few junk rings and around $45.00 in change. Beautiful beaches, friendly folks, great food and some of the best metal detecting treasure I have ever encountered. In all only about 10 of the 40 rings were junk. Most rings were 14k and 10k and 2 were 18k. The pendants, bracelet and earrings were 14k.Thanks Minelab for a fantastic machine and thanks Aruba for giving up your plunder!
