In August of 2009, Hurricane Bill was off the east coast, hitting Bermuda. I heard that we were expecting lots of beach erosion so I headed there first thing in the morning. I almost was dragged out to sea by a wave that morning and respectfully decided it was safer to hunt the wet sand rather than the raging surf. I stopped to chat with a friend who had recently found a nice diamond ring. I remarked to him that I didn't know why I was hunting this particular beach as I had never found anything good there. We parted and several minutes later, I got a nice low tone. There was an awesome diamond ring in my scoop! I was shaking but didn't want to be obvious that I found something good so I just tucked it away. Upon inspection, there were no markings in it so I was pretty sure it was fake. A week or so later I finally got to a jeweler to have it tested and surprise!! Platinum with a cushion cut diamond that is 1.8 carats!! Appraisal was in excess of $18,000! My theme song now is..."Bill, I love you so, I always will!" Cntrydncr1 - Florida, USA
