As my mother's caregiver, I occasionally find some time I can sneak away to a nearby park for a little dirt fishin'. Sunday before last I was lucky enough to land a big one. Just as I was about to head to the truck to go back home I hit a signal that about blew my ear drums and pegged the vdi on my Equinox 800. I was using my 6 inch coil so I wasn't digging very big plugs. About 8 inches down I caught a glimpse of what I thought was a green rock that might be hiding my target. Shit 15 minutes and a lot of digging later when I finally got that "green rock" loose and picked it up I realized I was holding my target... an 8lb nugget of float copper. Living in Northern Wisconsin it has to be a bucket list item and I'm excited to find it in only my second season of digging. Just didn't expect it to be in the park next to home. As for the title, my father always referred to float as glacier poop to make us laugh when we were little.
