The Park where I found this Gold Sovereign has produced alot of silver coins. Last year "my first year metal detecting" I found exactly 100. For the year 2021 I made a promise to myself to dig the deep midtone signals. It was pull tabs after pull tabs and then more pull tabs. I knew i would get rewarded but never to this extent. On the 22nd of Jan I visited the park to find MORE pull tabs. I got a message on my phone, I then made my way over to a nearby oak tree to get a bit of shade. Put my phone back in my pocket and on my first swing I got a nice deep 18 signal. A coin popped out which I thought was a modern 50c coin. The Equinox picks these coins up as Iron so I just ignored and proceeded to search the hole again but nothing. I swing my detector over the hole and nothing. Took a closer look at the coin and realized it's a Full Gold Sovereign!! All I remember is my heart wanting jump out of my chest. This is a lifetime find and feel incredibly grateful that I could have experienced this so early in my Metal Detecting adventure. Thank you Minelab for such an incredible machine. Dreams do come true.
