I have been using Minelab detectors for many years. I started with the E-TRAC detector and now I work with the CTX 3030.Detecting is my hobby, which spends all my free time.
I've already found a lot of very nice finds. For it I have met with professional archaeologists from area museums, the National Heritage Institute of Czech Republic or German "Landesamt für Archäologie im Dresden".
Archaeologist already invites me to cooperate on regular archaeological excavations for several times. This year I helped on archaeological excavation in the Chapel of The Visiting Virgin Mary in Mediaeval Castle Bečov n. T., West Bohemia.
Whole Castle is in reconstruction now. The main goal of the research was the collection of information on the conditional base construction of Champel. The digging place is very specific for the archaeologist. In one corner of the chapel was of huge hidden the reliquary of St Maurus from Second World War. The reliquary is a home-shaped type of them. It comes from the 13th century and lots of gold and many of gems were used (for more information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reliquary_of_St._Maurus).
The smaller the Reliquary WHO raised in the eighties from his hiding place were policemen, not archaeologists, and were very hurrying. No one knew if they had picked up all his parts. Probably for my years of experience they asked me for help. The detection was a first step of the excavation process. What they all supposed to do, it really happened. After a few minutes I got a specific signal. It was a square gilded lump in the shape of four shoulder lilies (1.5cm x 1.5cm). Finally, five of them were found (attachment Picture No. 1). It is a typical ornament of the reliquary. Small lilies of gold are used in the decoration of its gable sides (attachment Picture No.2).
Even though I found only a fragment of the big treasure, I feel like I can never find anything better.
My find is an adornment from St. Maur's famous reliquary and found my CTX 3030.
Have a nice day and lots of beautiful finds
