Towards the end of November I was short of work and had a few days spare. A good opportunity to go detecting! The Field I had in mind was only 2 miles away so I packed my Minelab Sovereign and off I went. As I drove past the field they were already sowing the field, but not deterred I took a guess at where the last spot was that they would reach. After about 45 mins the tractor was rapidly approaching, with about 3 minutes left I got a good signal and as I dug I saw a crucifix, at first I thought it was a 60's bling. I went home and gently cleaned off the dirt. Medieval 13th century, which was quickly confirmed by Verulam Museum and it is currently at the British Museum. Graham Takats - Hertfordshire, UK
