So I'm still in shock here, was out detecting an old road looking for a colonial spot we though was close by and got a solid 24 on my Equinox 800. I dug down about 5" and saw this laying in the hole. I can't remember much after that but my buddy said I was jumping up and down and yelling. When I finally calmed down I just said "gold" and opened my hand to show him .... I remember his mouth just dropping and us both then jumping up and down. The coin must have been dropped brand new and we were out in the middle of nowhere, I wonder to myself if it was part of a much larger cache and maybe just got disturbed when they built the road. I am going back and looking for more! My find of a lifetime!
