First Ever Gold With My Equinox 800

14 Aug 2020

I have only Been detecting with another machine for 18 months or so, and only on beaches about a dozen times. I managed to join the BMDC, I purchased my Mine Lab equinox 800 around two and half months just before joining. My new acquaintance and now good detecting buddy Michael, We made plans to go out detecting on a Wednesday morning to a new permission we have, Which has a large acreage to cover over time. Up early in the morning the weather wasn't to promising quite windy with showers and went prepared. I Met up Michael in the morning and got on our way, we had decided to detect two of the new fields to determine what type of finds there might be. We spent just over half the day across the two fields with a lot of effort with few signals, the wind n rain making it harder, then decided to try two smaller fields more sheltered. We stopped for something to eat and drink, and after a short drive we parked up and detected the field to the right of us, so off we go lotus legs as I now call Michael he would would beat road runner off the mark lol Beep-beep. So Michael of to the left me to the right in opposite directions around the outside edge of the field, I'm a bit slower than him and I'm picking up a few buttons some usual crusty coins trash, we passed each other by 15 foot or so keeping social distancing lol, I carried on in the same field whereas Michal went in to the other field, by this time it was raining constantly and windier. As time went on thinking of calling it a day the usual must dig one more target before we go, As I blipping n grunting along back to the car had a couple more bits n bobs, then I had lovey clear signal with a constant ID numbers with a depth of 4 inches. The Equinox 800 despite windy wet conditions it was not a problem at all, thinking this is going to be a nice one to finish the day with I cut the plug turned it out I could barely see with my rain water filled glasses looking down, might as well be snorkelling, as I looked into the hole at what looked like a wide brass compression plumbing olive with a dull tone to it, I took off my glasses. I wish I'd have taken a pictures just for the hell of it, when I reached in and retrieved the target and earth pushed the soil from inside I couldn't believe it, not just a ring a Posey one to boot, It made me feel excited nerves like at a job interview. Inscribed inside 'God did foresee wee should agree’ on inner band. weight 7.2 grams. The hammered coin is for size Ref only. Absolutely buzzing my first Gold with Equinox 800 A a great machine. The ring is going through the treasure act prosses.
