I only just started metal detecting this year. There were lots of choices, but because I live near the beach, I knew a Minelab multi frequency detector was the best choice for me. Not having the money to buy a new Sovereign GT, I bought the previous model second-hand. You can't go wrong with a Minelab, even an old one. So far my Sovereign Elite has found close to AU$1,400.00 and I haven't had it for a full year. I have found many wonderful things, but my favourite is this 1 Ducat Austrian 1915 restrike from a local park. Not every day a park, slap bang in the middle of suburbia, turns up a Gold Coin.
