I was beach detecting while I was on vacation this past August with my new EQUINOX 800. All that week I had not found any gold. It was 1 day before I had to leave for home, my wife said to me, "Let’s go down to the beach for a little while." I brought my Equinox and within 10 minutes of detecting, I was knee-deep where the waves were breaking at low tide. When I got a nice solid 6 on my VDI I dug down. 2 scoops in I looked in my scoop and saw a bracelet. I said to myself, "It's probably stainless... it can't be gold, can it?" I reached in and instantly felt how heavy it was. I looked on the clasp and thought I saw 750, which is 18 karat gold. I ended up with 3 pieces of gold for my vacation total. I love the Equinox! It is great and very stable in salt water and wet sand. I have been using that more than my Excalibur and E-Trac. So far, I am very happy with all my Minelab metal detectors!
