EQUINOX 800 stunning performance

Success Story

I had read and seen many videos about the Minelab equinox 800. And other brands of metal detectors. I know that many companies when producing a new metal detector will over expose and hype the product to obviously impact sales. Somehow the equinox 800 stood proud and so I purchased one. I am not saying it's an easy to use machine but like any new machine once you get used to it, this thing produced results beyond my expectations. Within weeks I found my first ever gold coin. A 1636 Nuremburg Gold Ducat. I was over the moon but I was still experimenting with the machine finding Roman coins and artefacts from all historical periods. One day I set my machine to a deeper programme. I decided to try it on a field that had previously been done a multitude of times. I thought now let’s see what this machine is capable of. There is only one starting place on this field due to vehicle access so that was the most searched place of all the field. Within 6-7 mtrs I got a signal that was worth a look. I kept digging and digging and after 40 cmts I could not believe my eyes. I found a complete lead plaque with no damage (probably missed the plough all these years due to the depth) My initial thoughts was that it was medieval but after some research and the loan of a book I found it was a Roman Danubian Horsemans cult plaque. Very Rare. Since this find I have made an even deeper find (60 cmt ) or 2 feet again Roman but that’s another story for another time . I am finding Roman and medieval coins as deep as 15 inches. I am in awe of this machine and its performance and I am truly a converted metal detectorist and keeping a keen eye on Minelab products. Thank you Minelab .All of my permissions have a new lease of life. I leave you with a photo of the Danubian Horseman cult plaque, my gold coin and 1 or 2 Roman finds.
