Stefan, a fellow detectorist and a good friend of mine contacted me during Easter regarding a ring recovery mission. A friend’s old dad was devastated as he had lost his beloved wedding ring when he was working in the garden a few weeks earlier. Stefan had been trying to find it for him, but without any success. Now I was their last hope of finding it. I received a “treasure map” over the area where the ring could possibly have been lost and got to work right away. I swung my detector in the tall grass, next to the kids’ sandbox when I received a sweet, shallow 18 signal on my Equinox 800. I pulled out my pinpointer and seconds later I held in my hand a pretty 18K gold ring, the one ring I was looking for! It sure felt amazing when I got to share the good news with the owner and he was very happy to get his ring back.
