Early Bronze Age flat head axe

26 Jun 2017

On the 25th June 2017 a few friends and I were detecting, with permission, on a ploughed and rolled field in the Scottish Highlands. After a couple of hours of digging I got a signal which I thought sure was a Silver Coin or at the very least a coin of some sort. A nice clear ding ding with no grunts or edges, perfect. Nice easy digging in the loose soil and out pops an Early Bronze Age (EBA) flat head axe possibly 2,000 years BC making it around 4,000 years old. Gasp awesome I've now become a member of the BA and EBA clubs.
