Eagle Head Saddle Pommel

08 Dec 2020

I recently bought a Minelab Equinox 600 because I wanted to see what targets my Garrett AT Pro may have been missing. I ended up digging an awesome relic from a private property that I’ve detected numerous times with permission from the property owner. To my astonishment, I discovered an Eagle Head Pommel from a saddle that dates to the Mexican-American war 1846-48. It’s rare and very historically significant. The pommel is made of solid brass and is in great condition for its age. The property I found it on dates back to the early 1800’s in local history books and maps. That’s what drew me to that property and it sure did not disappoint. What a blast. What a treasure! Thank you Minelab!
