I have been metal detecting for around 8 years, and it never seizes to amaze me what is in the ground beneath us. I went to a heavily hunted park in my area that has documented history going back to the 1870's. Many people have hunted this park over the years. However, it was here, where I dug my first Seated Half ever, an 1876. I have dug a few thousand silver coins since I started around 8 years ago, and a Seated half was not one of them until now. I have dug Barber half-dollars, Morgan dollars. Seated quarters, dime, half dimes, you name it. The reason why I truly believe it was not dug by anyone else is that the Seated Half had a nice old rusty big square nail next to it. I believe that my Minelab E-Trac seen through the iron, when all the previous machines that went over that signal couldn't. Thanks E-Trac! Happy Hunting Everyone!
