This is not my oldest find nor is it my most valuable find. Sometimes the best find is the most unique find or the best day metal detecting ever! I set out with my Minelab CTX 3030 on a sunny day to the ruins of an old stone building. I thought that should have a lot of promise! Funny thing is, my CTX 3030 rang up nothing but old metal dog registration tags! Not one single other thing but the amazing part of this story is 4 completely different shaped tags with 4 different crests. Three of these were for female dogs (denoted by a hole in the tag): 1891, 1902, 1922 and 1 male: 1898 - all in one hunt! Does a metal detecting hunt get any better than a collection in one day!
