Distance didn't matter and friends reunited

31 Aug 2016

I can’t remember the last time I have seen or spoke to this friend of mine, might have been around the time I deployed for Operation Enduring Freedom but social media has allowed to me to re connect. On Aug 29th, he reached out to me in a private message and asked if I knew anyone who could help retrieve his father’s lost wedding band. His dad had taken out his grandkids to the beach and lost it. My friend Dean said his father went back the night before with a make shift sifter to help find his ring. Dean’s father lost his previous wedding band in an armed robbery about 35 years ago and recently lost his wife. That story made it a no brainier. I worked early that morning took it upon me to drive the 4 hour trip round trip to put closure to his pain. The uproar around social media after Dean and his family showed thanks was something special, for me it was what I think people should do. End of the day, I knew the task would be easy, I own and know my machine about as good as anyone. Been using a CTX 3030 since the first few months they came out. I didn’t want anything from his family as his late wife I’m sure zeroed me into that spot and I also have great confidence with the machine and the company that created that machine to make it happen.

Thanks again Minelab for your great service and great product. Mission Accomplished :)
