My 2 friends and I went to a midweek searchers dig in Wiltshire. Weather was intermittent. We got out on the Saturday and found some Roman coins and bits, and then the heavens opened with a huge storm. I got soaked, returned to the field and found few more grots. On the Sunday hit the same spot and found some artefacts and a Crusty roman and through the crust I could see all the legend. The last day I found a hammered and more roman. So a 4hr drive home and got all my finds out cleaned all the roman but one, the crusty one I dry brushed it and it looked great so put it under the water. WOW I could see silver "is it a denari"? I washed it and it was a Trajan Decius!
I couldn’t believe it!
