As the weather starts to get colder at the beach and the beach sweepers do their thing, the targets found seem to take on a pattern. At the high end of the beach older coins seem to pop up, this includes 50c, a few 5c, 20c, 1 and 2c pieces in good condition.
The machine I'm using is the X-TERRA 705 Gold, very easy to use and pinpoint is spot on. When detecting wet sand, the sensitivity has to be adjusted down to about 10-12 and the machine has to be ground balanced or else false signals are to be expected. The cooler nights are here, but nothing a good jacket can't do to keep the cool wind at bay and a nice hot coffee also helps.
When detecting at night, concentration on the sounds is better, fresh cool air and exercise as well can't be a bad thing. I still get a few people coming up and asking about the machine and what can be found. I always recommend Minelab for beach relic or gold .A few of these people come from the Middle East and know of buried treasure either in old derelict homes, in fields or certain places in villages some stories are quite interesting.
Anyway, here are some of my latest finds. Get out there, be persistent and good luck when you're hunting. Be friendly and courteous to other people and specially kids as they could turn out to be future treasure hunters.
