During my late August trip to Norfolk, I searched with my EQUINOX 800’s Field 1 program. As I walked across plowed and rolled acreage on a rainy raw morning, I got a great signal. The target came out of the ground all muddy with some red showing. I thought, “another piece of iron”, but kept it. Imagine my delight when our guide, Steve, washed off my find and began to delicately remove caked mud. The piece was a Celtic Romano Enameled Clothing Fastener 1st C AD, decorated with blue enamel as well as red. That day, my Nox also turned up a Scottish hammered silver and some Romans.
