During my recent metal detecting trip to Hampshire, England, I was thrilled the variety of finds discovered with my Equinox 800. The machine identified targets from Roman coins to Saxon mounts to hammered silvers. My favourite finds from the trip came from the same field: a Bronze Age awl and a ring (possibly medieval.) “The British Museum’s PAS Finds Identified” by Kevin Leahy and Michael Lewis include awls on p. 221 and suggest a date range of 2350-800 BC.
