I had bought a whites XLT at a garage sale and used it successfully for finding coins around my yard. But while out at my father's mine I didn't feel I could trust it as my younger brother was picking up way more signals on his Fisher Goldbug II. Along comes a neighbor miner and friend who just purchased a Minelab Equinox 800 and had just found a gold nugget. He let me borrow it for the rest of the day and I ended up finding this 1.98 oz. nugget in a tailing pile about 1/3 way up and 12 inches deep. I purchased an Equinox 800 myself as soon as I returned home.
