Ive been hunting a cornfield across from where I work since I started detecting last summer. I know some great coins had been pulled from there in the past, and tons of great buttons. Being new to the hobby, Ive spent the past year learning my machine in this field, and have had great luck finding some beautiful old buttons, but only one Indian head penny. Yesterday I saw that they plowed the field. So first thing after work a friend and I went to the field. We were having no luck, when another mutual friend stopped by. We stopped and walked over to him to say hello and while standing there talking my equinox 800 gave me a solid 17 signal. I start swinging, and its repeating, with some trash iron near it. So I start to dig, and there before my eyes is my first silver coin, and it was a bucket lister!! I couldn't believe that my first silver coin find was an 1852 trime!
