I bought my Equinox 800 three weeks ago and have been on a few outings so far, I have found mostly bottle caps, lead sinkers and pull tabs. But today felt different, the morning air was crisp and I could just feel that today I would find something big. I set off to a new spot, a sand spit in the river and right off the mark I found a 20c coin, I cleaned it up and put it away. I took two more steps and I heard a very loud high tone, the ID was 33 and it was indicated as very deep, I thought this is something special. I started to dig, I got about 30cm down and hit something hard and metallic about 15cm square and I thought this will be the benchmark for all my future finds. (It’s a geographical survey benchmark)
