It was a noisy birthday afternoon in January, 2014 as I prepared to blow out the candles on my cake. My only wish for the year was to find one.. lousy.. ring. After detecting for nearly two years and having a huge variety of crustys land into my find bag from tabs to large cents, one trophy still continued to evade my every swing. The weekend following I decided to take my lady out for a quick dig at our local stomping grounds before lunch. She has found two gold wedding bands here in the past three hunts so every shred of male in me was dying to be redeemed. Nearly 15 minutes after firing up the good ol' explorer, I went ballistic. A 13 gram 10K men's horseshoe ring practically threw its self out of the plug to meet my eyes. After that morning I have made it a point to detect every day before or after work no matter what the circumstances are. Since that day I have found 32 rings, 18 of which are gold, and over 60 silver coins. Thanks to all of the talented folks at Minelab who make this hobby pay for its self.
