Amazing Weekend!

22 Jul 2019

My Wife and I went to a PA Conference in Branson,Mo., and I took My CTX. I wasn’t having much luck finding places to detect there, so I headed to Springfield, Mo., which was only 34 miles away. I was also going to swing into to “Metal Detectors of Southwest Missouri “, where I purchased My Detector, and look at an Equinox 800 after a hunt. I ended up landing permissions for 3 older homes downtown Springfield. There was another next to one I was hunting, but no one was home. Anyway I hunted all three houses only ending up with a couple Wheat Pennies. I was loading the CTX, and My shovel and other tools in the truck when I noticed there was an older man with a truck in the back yard where no one was home before, I finished putting the stuff in the Envoy and headed out behind that house to ask. Sure enough he said “Yes”. I headed straight back to the Envoy and got suited up again. After four passes, and in about the centre of the yard, to the left of the sidewalk, I got a solid signal. It was bouncing back and forth between 12:36 & 12:38. Nice and solid so I dug it. And there it was!! A honking 21.83 Gram Solid 14 kt Gold Ring with no markings!!! I was floored!!!! I immediately hurried and finished the yard and headed straight to the nearest Jeweller. I had them test it with a meter, and scratch test it with acid. It was without a doubt Solid 14kt Gold!!!!! My whole year just brightened up dramatically!!!! To make it better I ran up to Metal Detectors of Southwest Missouri, and traded it with some cash and picked up a brand new Equinox 800 to go with My Arsenal of tools for this incredible Hobby!!! Thank You Minelab, and Happy Hunting to You All!!!!!
