I had found this little local park, and hunted it a few times finding coins that dated to the mid 1960s. So I knew there had to be more there. Just before my 4th hunt I learned that a house was built on this site in the 1850s and it was a plantation. The house was torn down in the mid 1960s when it became a park. I had been detecting for about 45 minutes when I got a broken Nickel signal along with Iron and trash signals. In digging, I found a lot of house rubble and debris. I couldn't believe it when I started cleaning off the dirt and saw that "V" come out! And that CTX3030 is an amazing machine for detecting in trashy sites. It's two weeks later now and I'm still stoked to be telling the story of my oldest coin to date...
