I had spent most of the morning frustratingly hopping from field to field, trying to find one that wasn't too lumpy or sticky (typical British weather!) I finally settled on a field near a roman road, it's a generally hard field to work as there doesn't seem to be a hotpot but it has brought up the occasional nice find in the past. After picking up buttons and a few roman bronze coins, I picked up a nice double beep signal on my E-TRAC, so I knew the target was near the surface! A few seconds later I had unearthed a beautiful roman denarius of Elagabalus (Victory on the reverse), my best yet! It spurred me on for the rest of the day and will be a lovely addition to my collection.
Found using the E-TRAC: standard coil, multi conductive tones, fast on, deep on.
